My Approach

Therapy is a deeply personal journey based in connection – whether that connection is between people, ideas, or past events. One major component of therapy that builds these connections is the stories we share about ourselves, our relationships, and our experiences.

So, what’s your story? I am interested in hearing about it and supporting you in changing the narrative to something that better aligns with who you are. I will strive to foster an environment where you can explore the many stories that make you unique. To me, that environment should be a space of inclusion, connection, and safety that is warm, non-judgmental, and empathetic. As a therapist, I also see great value in offering gentleness, humour, and humbleness, because I believe these qualities ensure my clients have autonomy in the therapeutic conversation that is empowering.

I take a trauma- and social justice-informed approach that allows me to consider the impacts of the systems your stories exist within. My ability to think relationally and systemically using a post-modern lens allows me to see each client as a whole person and not just a problem to be “fixed” or defined by one narrative.

As part of the University of Guelph’s Couple and Family Therapy Program, I received training in a variety of therapeutic models, including dialogic therapy, solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and integrative therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families, related to a variety of concerns.

If you think I might be a good fit for you, I would be more than happy to meet with you for a free 15-minute consultation. You are deserving of care and support, and I applaud you for taking a step towards it.
