My Approach

Claire was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and graduated with her Master’s degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary in 2022. During her graduate studies, Claire discovered her love for data and statistics, recognizing how powerful it was to use concrete, objective information alongside her clinical judgment to form well-supported and meaningful conclusions about her clients’ needs.

From a young age, Claire has been deeply observant, fascinated by human behaviour, and driven to understand why people do the things they do. This natural curiosity evolved into a passion for psychological assessment, a process she views as the beginning of meaningful change. She values how assessment helps uncover the underlying factors contributing to an individual’s challenges so that appropriate supports and treatments can be put in place.

Claire uses objective, standardized assessment tools to develop a comprehensive understanding of each client’s strengths and challenges. Her evaluations incorporate psychological tests, structured questionnaires (completed by the client and, when appropriate, their family members), direct behavioural observations during the assessment, and clinical interviews.

What areas will be assessed are discussed collaboratively between Claire and her clients. Based on the information gathered during the intake process, she will make evidence-based suggestions about which domains to explore further, always mindful that many disorders can co-occur and influence one another. This collaborative and integrative approach ensures that each assessment is tailored to the individual’s needs and rooted in scientific understanding.

Claire looks forward to working as part of a multidisciplinary team that facilitates continuity of care. Once an assessment is complete, she collaborates closely with colleagues to ensure that clients receive the most appropriate follow-up support. Given her in-depth understanding of each individual through assessment, she is able to recommend a therapist whose approach best aligns with their unique profile and therapeutic needs.

With extensive experience in psychoeducational assessments, Claire specializes in understanding and supporting individuals’ diverse learning and emotional needs. She brings a gentle, thoughtful approach to her work, fostering a warm and supportive environment where clients and families feel heard, comfortable, and understood.

Her areas of practice include the assessment and diagnosis of autism (ASERT training certificate), ADHD, learning disabilities, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges, anxiety, and depression.

Outside of her professional work, Claire enjoys spending quality time with her family, including her cats (Marv & Benny) indulging in her love of good food, and watching crime documentaries.

Claire is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and is in the process of becoming registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
