My Approach
When you work with me, I want you to be able to drop the mask—the one you wear at work, in your relationships, and maybe even with yourself. I will meet you where you are, wherever that may be, with genuineness, warmth, compassion, and a hearty dose of humour. My collaborative approach means we will work together and decide what topics to explore, and how, in the way that works best for you. If you don’t know yet what that could look like, don’t worry. We’ll figure it out together.
As a bisexual, genderqueer femme living with ADHD and chronic illness, I’ve committed my life to working with—and for—2SLGBTQI+, neurodivergent, and disabled folks. I have felt first-hand how cisheterosexism, ableism, and other systems of oppression can limit our choices, expressions, and relationships. My lifelong passion for social justice guides my practice, and I believe that therapy is best when it acknowledges how our friends and families, our culture, the environments we’re in, and the times we’re living through, have all shaped our experiences. Together, we’ll explore how to resist systems of oppression with creativity and attunement to you and your unique social ecosystem.
By the end of therapy, I hope that you’ll feel capable and empowered to meet reality as it is; to see the structures shaping the world around you, and to make informed choices about how you’ll move with intention towards change.
Experience, Education, and Modalities:
I come to this work with over 15 years of experience delivering peer support, education, training, and group facilitation in the mental health and harm reduction fields. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Guelph, and earned my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto, where I completed the Social Justice & Diversity field of study and the Collaborative Master’s Specialization in Community Development.
