My Approach

Trauma can shape how we experience our bodies, our relationships, and our sense of self. After experiences of sexual violence, complex trauma, or chronic stress, you might feel disconnected from your body, struggle with trust or intimacy, or feel stuck in patterns of self-blame, shame, or control. You may notice this showing up as PTSD symptoms, dissociation, sexual pain or dysfunction, difficulties with food or body image. While these experiences can feel overwhelming, healing is possible—and you don’t have to do it alone.

I am an active and directive therapist, and I do not shy away from difficult or uncomfortable conversations when they are in service of your healing. Together, we work at a pace that feels safe enough, building stability and skills while also being willing to engage directly with the parts of your story and patterns that are keeping you stuck. My goal is to support you in reconnecting with your body, your values, and your sense of agency, so you can move toward a life that feels more present, embodied, and self-directed.

About Me & How I Work

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in Psychology, with additional academic training in gender and sexuality studies. I bring years of experience from community-based work supporting survivors of sexual violence, sex workers, victims of human trafficking, and the queer community.

My clinical focus includes sexual violence, PTSD and complex trauma, sex therapy, and eating disorders. I frequently support clients navigating vaginismus, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, dissociation, sexual abuse, disordered eating, and body image concerns. I am especially passionate about working with queer and trans clients, and sex workers.

As a queer therapist, my work is grounded in anti-oppressive, sex-positive, and affirming care. I understand how systemic oppression, stigma, and shame can compound trauma, and I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative.

I use trauma-focused and body-based modalities including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and somatic approaches. These methods allow us to address trauma not only at the level of thoughts and memories, but also through the nervous system and the body. Therapy with me may involve structured trauma processing, skill-building for regulation and grounding, and space for curiosity, reflection, and integration.

Above all, we will work together to create a treatment plan that honours your needs, boundaries, and goals. You are the expert on your experience, and my role is to support you with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based care as you move toward healing.

Modalities: Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
