My Approach

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. My work is grounded in a deep respect for individual differences, providing a warm, non-judgmental, and person-centered space for those who feel overwhelmed or unsure of themselves. Having been diagnosed as AuDHD in my 40s (after many misdiagnoses), I have a lived understanding of the unique challenges facing neurodivergent individuals. I am particularly passionate about supporting late-diagnosed perimenopausal and menopausal women—an underserved population navigating significant biological and neurological shifts that I have embraced as a professional special interest.

I believe that life becomes more peaceful when we embrace what makes us "uncommon." Using a trauma-informed lens, I help clients recognize that the coping strategies that once kept them safe may no longer be serving them, approaching this realization with compassion rather than judgment. My practice is built on the Rogerian tenets of unconditional positive regard, congruence, and empathy. I utilize an integrative and eclectic approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT, and Psychodynamic interventions to meet the specific needs of each individual.

As such, I view therapy as a collaborative space for curiosity and self-discovery. By integrating humor, intentional self-disclosure, and authenticity, I strive to help clients transform their differences into sources of strength and meaning. Whether you are neurodivergent or neurotypical, queer or straight, I offer the same authentic acceptance to all folks navigating their unique journeys toward wellness.

When I’m not in the office, I’m often immersed in sci-fi or fantasy worlds through books and video games, usually with one or more cats sprawled across my lap. As a lifelong visual artist, I bring creativity into all aspects of my life. I also make an effort to improve my relationship with food - I just discovered that oyster mushrooms (when deep-fried into oblivion) aren’t so bad!

I offer free 15-minute phone consultations; feel welcome to reach out to see if we could be a good fit. I would love to hear from you!
